The diagnosis of asbestos concerns all flats and detached houses during a real estate transaction. It consists in assessing the state of conservation of materials likely to contain asbestos. This assessment is done without any damage to the house and must be handed in in case of all promises to sell and when the final deed is signed. |

The diagnosis of asbestos is also done in communal areas of buildings as part of the Asbestos Technical File (offices, communal areas, business premises). This file must be filled in and updated by the owner of the building and be at the disposal of all individual and legal entity during repairs. The property agent must have this file created for all communal areas. It will be enclosed in the promise to sell. |

| The technicians at Chasles Expertise are licensed to identify the presence of asbestos. They look for asbestos and assess the presence of materials and products likely to contain asbestos without damaging anything. |
| When, in some cases which must be justified, some premises are not accessible, the technicians express some reservations and recommend further investigations which will have to be conducted. In case of a doubt about the presence of asbestos, they take some samples which will be sent to an approved lab. If asbestos is detected, the technicians assess the state of conservation and the material or product is classified under the heading “good state of conservation” or “damaged state of conservation”.
| Validity of the diagnosis: permanent, in case of asbestos a regular control on a 3-year basis is required. |
